Our mix of communal-style and private accommodations means plenty of different options to suit guests’ individual needs. The Retreat Barn offers year-round accommodations for up to 22 people, while the cabins & cottages provide extra space and privacy during the warmer months.
The Retreat Barn
Originally built in 1900, our lovingly restored Retreat Barn is the central hub of Sky Meadow. All Retreat Barn lodgings are available year-round, with easy access to the core gathering spaces and amenities.
The main level of the Retreat Barn features 3 shared bunk-style rooms, each with 4 hand-built bunks in custom sizes that are larger than a typical twin-size bunk. Soft memory foam mattresses, high ceilings and bed curtains add comfort and privacy to each sleeping area.
All 3 bunk rooms are easily accessible to core Retreat Barn amenities, including 2 full shared bathrooms, the coffee & tea bar, and the back porch.
Capacity: 12 people (4 beds per room)
On the west end of the Barn’s upper level you’ll find the Sunset Suite, our most spacious private lodging. When you first walk in you’ll be greeted by the light-filled living space, kitchen and eating nook. Walk up a few steps to the suite’s mid level and you’ll find a twin-sized bed, plus the bathroom closet with a sawdust composting toilet. Last but not least, the upper level sleeping loft offers a queen-sized bed complete with a relaxing bed canopy.
The kitchenette comes equipped with a two-burner range, sink, minifridge, and electric kettle. (Please note, the sink is turned off when nights are below freezing. Jugs are available to bring drinking water from the main level if needed.)

On the east end of the Barn’s upper level you’ll find our charming Sunrise Suite. On the lower level you’ll find a sitting area, kitchenette and bathroom closet with a sawdust composting toilet. The cozy sleeping loft offers a full-sized bed and dresser.
The kitchenette comes equipped with a two-burner range, sink, minifridge, and electric kettle. (Please note, the sink is turned off when nights are below freezing. Jugs are available to bring drinking water from the main level if needed.)
Capacity: 2 people (1 double bed)
On the lower level of the Retreat Barn you’ll find the Rose Room, which has a cozy queen-sized bed and charming seating area, plus an additional twin bed that makes a great reading nook or extra sleeping space. This room gets its name from the beautiful climbing roses outside its large picture window overlooking the gardens. It’s also conveniently located just a few outside steps from the full bathroom on the Barn’s lower level.

The Lavender Room features a cozy queen-sized bed plus an additional twin bed that makes a great reading nook or extra sleeping space. It’s located on the lower level of the Retreat Barn, right next to our bed of English lavender — so the walk to your door smells extra heavenly in summertime! It’s also just a few outside steps away from the full bathroom on the Barn’s lower level.

Cabins & Cottages
From June to September, we also offer a number of additional cabins & cottages for retreat lodgings. Although these unique, hand-built spaces don’t have all the same amenities as the Retreat Barn, they make up for it in rustic charm and extra privacy. They are a great option for guests who’d like a simple, cozy space to fully unplug while on retreat.
The bucolic Apple House is nestled on the northern side of the property. Sit on the porch with your morning cup of tea and watch the chickens and sheep stroll around in the old apple orchard. Inside, the space features a kitchenette and writing desk, as well as an upstairs loft with a full-size bed. This space also comes equipped with a Vermont Castings woodstove as well as a sawdust composting toilet for your convenience.

Channel your inner Thoreau in this idyllic little cabin nestled among the woods near the lower pond. It comes equipped with a woodstove and mini kitchenette, plus a writing desk, bunk beds for two, and a tranquil porch for rocking as you look out over the land. It’s the perfect spot to reconnect with nature’s slow rhythms and calming energies.

Capacity: 2 people (2 twin bunk beds)
Named for the plum tree outside, Plum Cottage is a charming tiny house for one, with a snug twin-size sleeping loft that’s accessible by ladder. This space also boasts the world’s coziest reading chair, a heater for chilly nights, and huge picture windows to let in the sunshine. Just steps away from the Retreat Barn and all its amenities, it’s the perfect little perch for a retreat.

Capacity: 1 person (1 twin bed)
This cabin features twin private rooms, each with its own cozy lofted bed, with a writing desk, bookshelves and dresser below. The two rooms are joined by a central hall that leads to a lovely back porch overlooking the amimal pasture, and also comes equipped with a heating unit for chilly nights. The many windows offer a cheery view of the mugwort patch. This space is especially great for guests who’d like to stay together under one roof, but still enjoy their own private space.

A rustic lodging tucked away in the shade of the woods, the Yurt comes furnished with a kitchenette, eating area, rocking chair and a central wood stove. The double bed sleeps 2 under the glass dome, letting the moonlight shine in. Perfect for a bit of additional privacy and space.

Our simplest and tiniest little cottage, the Mouse House is tucked back beneath the trees near the lower pond, surrounded by lush ferns, sunflowers and wild garlic. Walk down the charming stone path to tuck into one of its two cozy twin beds. (Don’t forget your flashlight! The Mouse House does not have electricity.)

Our most whimsical lodging, this little cob house is like something right out of the Shire. Simple and sweet, its earth-built construction makes it our most rustic lodging, right down to the stone and dirt floor — . It comes furnished with two cozy twin beds and a woodstove for chilly nights. Sit and watch the sheep grazing by the pond outside, or cozy up for the night with a cup of tea and a good book. (Please be sure to bring your flashlight! The Hobbit House does not have electricity.)
